There’s no doubt the Queens team feeds off the passion of their coach, Raheem Wiggins. The fiery, raspy-voiced motivator is as controversial as anyone in New York City hoops, but there’s no questioning his results. “They scared of us, but they not going to give it to us,” Wiggins declared before the first round matchup with Harlem. Assistant coached by BJ “Beast” McFarland, a former standout at St. Thomas of Aquinas, the Queens team indeed triumphed, as Jermaine Saunders dropped a tournament-high 22-points. Despite being dismissed as prima donnas by rivals, they were also tough enough to dispatch The Bronx in the finals, taking home the title.

Jermaine Saunders can do it all. He can score, rebound, pass and shoot. And the reason is because you can rarely find him without a basketball in his hands. While he finds it hard to make comparisons, he finds similarities between his game and that of Michael Redd.
