There’s no doubt the Queens team feeds off the passion of their coach, Raheem Wiggins. The fiery, raspy-voiced motivator is as controversial as anyone in New York City hoops, but there’s no questioning his results. “They scared of us, but they not going to give it to us,” Wiggins declared before the first round matchup with Harlem. Assistant coached by BJ “Beast” McFarland, a former standout at St. Thomas of Aquinas, the Queens team indeed triumphed, as Jermaine Saunders dropped a tournament-high 22-points. Despite being dismissed as prima donnas by rivals, they were also tough enough to dispatch The Bronx in the finals, taking home the title.

Corey Edwards is a pure point guard who always seems to be able to get people involved. And it’s his ability to make his teammates better that has made him so successful. Corey can takeover a game with his passing, defense or scoring – the three things needed to be a top point guard. Also, watch out for his in-and-out crossover.
